“I am very pleased with today’s surprise announcement regarding providing funding for a public high school in Stittsville. I fully support this initiative and the Ontario PC Party will honour 100% of the funding committed by the government.
For the past 2 years, Stittsville’s families and residents have told me how frustrated they have been with the lack of a local public high school. The need for a public high school has been an issue since 2006. I am glad to see that, after 12 years of ignoring the residents of Stittsville, Kathleen Wynne and the Liberals are finally acknowledging Stittsville and the riding of Carleton 4 months before the election.
The Liberals have been in power for 15 years, and for 15 years they have closed a record number of schools, cancelled or reduced funding for programs, and have let our school infrastructure degrade.
This is a government that will say anything, do anything, and promise anything to cling on to power. It’s no surprise that they’re now making announcements on issues that they have ignored for over a decade only months before an election.”
